Overview
The NBSS Learning Beyond Borders programme lives up to its name by offering students enriching experiences that transcend geographical and cultural boundaries. It aims to cultivate a global mindset by exposing students to diverse cultures, environments, and perspectives.
Through thoughtfully planned trips, students engage in experiential learning, cultural immersion, and meaningful interactions with communities beyond their own—fostering adaptability, empathy, and a deeper understanding of global issues.
Aligned with our school’s vision of "Leaders of Character, Learners for Tomorrow," the programme equips students with the skills and experiences needed to grow into thoughtful learners and future-ready leaders.
Programme Objectives
Develop Global Awareness – Expose students to international landscapes, helping them understand global issues and their impact on individuals, Singapore, and other nations.
Enhance Cultural Appreciation – Provide firsthand experiences that encourage students to recognize and respect different cultural identities and traditions.
Build Interpersonal and Communication Skills – Encourage meaningful interactions with people from diverse backgrounds, fostering sensitivity and openness in cross-cultural exchanges.
Strengthen Critical Thinking and Reflection – Inspire students to analyze and reflect on their experiences, linking learning to their personal and academic growth.
The trips emphasize meaningful interactions with local students and communities, as well as visits to key industries, providing students with real-world insights and hands-on learning experiences. Students will also engage in cultural immersion through school visits, fostering cross-cultural understanding and meaningful exchanges.
